All-on-4® Dental Implants

At Gables Exceptional Dentistry, we offer the All-on-4 procedure for patients who are looking for a convenient way to replace missing teeth. If you live in the Coral Gables area and have experienced tooth loss, we encourage you to visit our office to discuss the options available to you.

You Do Not Have to Live With Tooth Loss

According to the Periodontic Association of America, roughly 175 million people of all ages have lost one or more teeth, and this number is actually expected to increase over time. This has spurred growth in the tooth replacement industry and the revolution of dental implants. Implants are a way to get the most natural-looking and behaving replacement teeth. However, the standard implant procedure is not always physically viable or convenient. In this situation, the All-on-4 procedure can be a better solution.

What is All-on-4®?

All-on-4 is a minimally invasive method that uses only four dental implants to support a full arch (upper or lower) of fixed replacement teeth. It allows a patient to have a full set of teeth without having to undergo multiple surgeries to place a full set of implants.

The best thing about All-on-4 is that we can typically complete treatment in our office during one appointment under local anesthesia. For our patients who have lost all their teeth or may need to have their remaining teeth extracted due to decay, this is an amazing advancement that allows them to have a full set of teeth without undergoing multiple procedures. All-on-4 gives patients teeth that look real and act like their original teeth.

Who Should Get All-on-4®?

The ideal candidate for All-on-4 implants is someone who already wears dentures or is missing most of their teeth. We also recommend All-on-4 for someone who does not have the bone density to support a full set of individual implants, the time to have individual implants placed, or the budget to pay for them.

All-on-4 is faster and more affordable than conventional dental implants and offers patients a chance to improve their quality of life by replacing teeth with fixed implants instead of removable dentures.

Why Choose All-on-4®

There are several reasons All-on-4 implants are better than dentures.

  • You take care of All-on-4 implants the same way you care for your natural teeth, by brushing and flossing each day.
  • All-on-4 implants function the same way as natural teeth, so you do not have to be cautious about what you eat.
  • You do not have to remove All-on-4 implants when eating or brushing your teeth.
  • There are no uncomfortable wires or brackets to hold the implants in place.
  • You do not have to worry about hot or cold affecting your replacement teeth.
  • You can bite down with up to 70% more force, which allows you to eat all the foods you love.
  • All-on-4 implants look exactly like your natural teeth — no one will be able to tell that you are wearing a dental prosthetic.
  • All-on-4 implants prevent deterioration of the jawbone and ultimately restore your facial features.

The Process of Getting All-on-4® at Gables Exceptional Dentistry

Typically, the surgery takes approximately two hours and 30 minutes per arch. We can place your All-on-4 implants in your upper arch, your lower arch, or both at the same time. The process of getting All-on-4 implants can be described in four steps:

Step 1

We perform a detailed examination where we consider your dental records, existing health conditions, whether you currently have a denture, what your facial structure needs are, and any other factors that may come into play when placing your implants.

Step 2

We take CT scans — which are 3D pictures — of the jawbone to gather critical information about where the bone, sinuses, and nerves are located so we can determine the optimal positions for the replacement teeth.

Step 3

We create a computer simulation of the implants, which we digitally position into the jawbone at the appropriate locations to give you the most support for your dental prosthetic — adjusting as needed to fabricate your perfect set of replacement teeth.

Step 4

We will perform oral surgery to place the implants directly into your jawbone and secure your new set of teeth in place.
